It's been nice to see that the Pens can score no matter who is on the ice. Before if the first two lines weren't on the ice then there was no threat. Now the Penguins have players who can chip in a goal here and there and actually contribute to the success of the team. We haven't seen this depth in many years.

My gut tells me that the Caps win tomorrow and we come back to Pittsburgh for game 6.

I just can't see the Caps going out in 5 games.

I mean I hope we roll like we did in game 7 of 2009...just think tomorrow nights game is going to be very difficult to win.

I don't see the Caps losing 4 games in a row, they are just too good to go out like that. I know the Pens have been the better team the last half of the season, but the Caps are too good for that. I pray that I am wrong though, because I hope like crazy the Pens end it in 5, and get much needed rest.

As for Cullen, he has been amazing for this team, you can tell HCMS trust his line, which is pretty amazing in itself..up a goal, and he has the kids and Cullen out there on a defensive draw. If he wants to come back, I would hope the Pens would accept him with open arms.

As far as the defense, I think DP sits tomorrow. Schultz played much better, DP will get his time.

This ends tomorrow if they can weather the storm for the first 10 minutes..... Caps will come out flying obviously but if at the 10 minute mark it's 0-0 or we have the lead you'll see the nervousness start to set it.

Also.... Letang coming back for game 5 coupled with the news about his family's tragic week... I can see the Pens come out knowing how badly they want to finish this and just asserting their will like in game 3 against the Rags and just take the Caps will away.

I get the sense there's a very strong sense of family and brotherhood with this team.... they all really love playing with and for each other.

Got this little blurb from Yohe on DK's site...

• There is a closeness on this Penguins team that is unique. I’m not suggesting the locker room has been a problem in previous seasons, because I don’t think it has been. But this locker-room dynamic is different. Just a close, close team.

I too think this ends tomorrow. I just think the Pens are the better overall team. Every line can score and it's backstopped by a kid that's unflappable.

ftfy

I doubt the players will publicly make a big deal of what is normally a private personal matter, but this could be a tiny bit like the Rangers' motivation when Marty St. Louis' mom died during our up 3-to-1 playoff series 2 years ago and the players banded together to win the series in honor of their grieving teammate.

What happened to Letang's family?

Also, if Cullen resigns next year, what do you guys think the Pens will pay him?

The Pens haven't played a solid game since game two. If they put it together, which I think they do tomorrow, it's over for the Caps. Bring on the Bolts and Blues.

I will worry about the off season when the playoffs are done...lets just enjoy whats going on right now, its been a while since I have had this kind of belief in this team. That being said, if Cullen wants to come back, Pens welcome him with open arms.

No poop! Nine months out of the year are perfectly designed to talk about lineup construction. This is part of those three where we just enjoy the ride.

I'm not convinced the Blues advance in that series just yet.
